Step-By-Step Instructions
Inspect the Filter
The side of the filter that goes into the ear canal is the tapered end. It is rounded, slightly smaller, and has a tiny hole in the center.
The open end is the sound hole. The edges are not rounded. The name HOCKS begins on the open end of the connector filter.

Insert the Filter into an Ear Piece
Next, decide what type of earpiece you will use. Most earpieces require a piece of quilled tubing to ensure an adequate seal.
Insert the tapered, smaller-holed end through the canal of the earmold, and the open sound hole end into the tubing. The connector filter should now be secure and ready for use.
A Tube Expander tool will make inserting the filter easier. If an insertion tool is not available, using an acrylic cement will expand the tubing slightly. You may need to twist and push the filter in place several times to secure the fit.
Verify the filter has been inserted to the proper depth, and wipe the earmold with a sanitary wipe.
The final step: trim excess tubing.
